Nothing quite compares to seeing a bride find the perfect wedding dress for her wedding. But, what about her groom? I think it’s about time they get some of the spotlight on their attire. I would like to introduce a custom clothier, located right here in Sacramento: Ryan Hammonds with R. Douglas Custom Clothiers. Ryan brings an innovative and distinctive style to his custom creations. Outfitting many of the local lobbyists, his clientele doesn’t stop here though. Why not have a custom piece designed for your beau? He can choose fabric types, liner style and even get a monogrammed personalized saying! We love this, and think you will too. Check out Ryan’s blog and website to find out more information.

Come check out the Alfred Angelo salon in Roseville where it is Girls Night Out! You can see some of the latest bridal gowns and bridesmaid wear, while meeting some talented local professionals.
Where: Alfred Angelo Bridal Shop: 1208 Galleria Blvd. Suites 4 & 5
When: August 26th from 6-8 pm
We will be one of the featured vendors of the evening, so come check out some of our work, see some of the great Sacramento wedding professionals, and find your gown and/or your bridesmaid dresses!

What better way to personalize your guest tables than with custom votives. You can have them match your centerpiece flowers, and many are available with fun prints to extend your theme and decor. Looking for a favor to double as decor? Well, look no further than these one-of-a-kind votives! Here are a few of my favorites:

Just a taste of Fall…
Top row features (From left to right): Flame miniature calla lilies, ‘Black Bacara’ Roses, Burnt orange Mokara orchids and burgundy dahlias.
Middle Row: Luscious orange ribbon, a vintage looking orange broach to incorporate onto the bridal bouquet, and brown velvet ribbon to add texture.
Bottom Row: Fiddle head fern scrolls, begonia leaf foliage for an interesting look, and green berzelia.
These colors are warm and cozy. The combination with the bright green foliage really makes these colors “pop,” while adding an interesting look.

Your bridal bouquet is an important accessory for your wedding day. It should not only compliment your dress, but your personality and style as well.
Adding embellishments such as rhinestones or pearls to compliment your dress are subtle adornments to tie your wedding day look together. Other items to incorporate into the look might be a family broach, a locket with a photo of a loved one, or a family rosary. Something borrowed possibly….
Any way you choose to incorporate whatever it may be that you love, make sure you do something personalized to make your floral accessories reflect you and your style.

I will admit, I used to not be the biggest fan of “blue” weddings, but I have to say that they have become quite intriguing to me lately. Whether it be a deep dark blue or a lighter aqua tone, blue can be used creatively throughout your wedding color scheme.
Some ways to incorporate blue into your wedding would be through your linens, paper products, vases and vessels, and other hardscape elements. While I will never be a fan of blue dyed flowers, I have been exploring new ways to tying this calming color into a wedding color palette in relating to florals. There are some natural blue flowers such as hydrangeas, tweedia, cornflower, delphinium, hyacinth, iris, nigella, and scabiosa which are all nice choices for a blue scheme. As for centerpieces, a blue vessel or a clear one with blue ribbon accents make a nice touch to infuse some blue into your reception.
Stay tuned, we’ll be posting some inspiration boards in the future relating to complimentary colors to use with blue.

This past Friday Dan and Kelly were married at Vintage Gardens in Modesto, California. This sweet couple chose colors of baby blue and deep purple. Kelly was inspired for her all hydrangea bouquet from a photo she found out of the Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine. I know, you are saying hydrangeas in Summer, well… I have a few tricks to making this work, and they held up just perfect! The bridesmaids carried hydrangea and dark purple lisianthus bouquets with accents of glossy camellia leaf. The day was perfect, at around 87 degrees, who could have asked for more! Photos were taken by Mary Gillespie Photography out of Lodi.
